Tasked with designing the user experience and interface for a consumer oriented ESG search engine, the final design is a simple search and view system that also displays alternative brand options. Currently, consumers are responsible for researching their favorite brands, sorting through marketing content and actual ESG reports for each one and their competitors. Websites like CSRHub make this process much easier for investors, people who need all the data in order to invest well, but this is not user friendly or accessible to everyday consumers. ESG Consumer aims to fill the gap in the market and allow people of all ages, occupations and abilities to shop wisely.

Conclusion

Ease of use was the top priority when designing this web and mobile application. Simplicity - and the free use - is key to engaging as many users as possible. The more informed people shopping, the more companies will be held responsible for their actions and be inclined to take positive environmental and social action. In the future, we hope to connect with the sort of database run by CSRhub for those interested in diving deeper into the actions of the brands they are considering shopping. It is important that the site remain free to users, so ads will be used to help sustain the cost of running the site.
